Section 1
Parties and definitions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Selvia and any individual or entity ("Client", "you") using Selvia's accounting services, advisory services, or digital platform.

Key definitions: "Services" means all accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, tax, advisory, and software services. "Platform" means the Selvia mobile application and other client-facing digital tools Selvia provides to you as part of the Services. "Starter Plan" and "Business Plan" refer to the subscription tiers described in Sections 4 and 5.
Section 2
Acceptance of terms
By registering for an account, subscribing to a plan, or using any part of the Selvia platform or services, you confirm that:
- You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms
- You are at least 18 years of age and have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- If acting on behalf of a company or organisation, you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms
- You agree to Selvia's Privacy Policy (available at selvia.fi/privacy)
Section 3
Services overview
Selvia provides an integrated accounting and software platform for freelancers and businesses registered in Finland. Services include:
- Bookkeeping and transaction recording
- VAT calculation and filing with the Finnish Tax Administration (Vero)
- Annual income tax return (ITR) filing
- Financial reporting and period closing
- Access to the Selvia mobile workspace, invoice and PDF tools, and agreed digital channels
- Direct client support via email, phone, and WhatsApp
The specific services included depend on the plan selected. Selvia reserves the right to adjust or expand the scope of services offered over time.
Section 4
Starter plan
The Starter Plan is designed for sole traders (Toiminimi / self-employed individuals) in Finland.

Final pricing may vary based on transaction volume and business activity, confirmed in advance on an onboarding call. All fees are exclusive of VAT (ALV).
Section 5
Business plan
The Business Plan is designed for registered limited companies (Osakeyhtiö / Oy) in Finland.

Final pricing depends on business activity and volume and is confirmed before subscription begins. All fees are exclusive of VAT (ALV).
Section 6
Platform access
Access to the Selvia Platform is included with both the Starter and Business plans. The Platform currently includes:
- Mobile workspace — income, expense, and client tracking for daily use
- Invoice and PDF generation — line-item invoices and Selvia-formatted PDFs
- Records, periods, and VAT-related views connected to your activity in the app
- Receipt capture and automation (in development — availability subject to rollout)
Platform access is granted on a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence for the duration of your active subscription. You may not sublicence, resell, or share access with parties outside your registered business.
Selvia may add, modify, or discontinue platform features over time. Material changes that reduce existing functionality will be communicated to Clients in advance.
Section 7
Fees and payment
All monthly fees are invoiced in advance and due within 14 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed. Fees are stated exclusive of Finnish VAT (ALV), which will be added at the applicable rate.
- Payment is accepted via bank transfer or other methods confirmed at onboarding
- Late payments may incur statutory interest under the Finnish Interest Act (Korkolaki)
- If payment is overdue by more than 30 days, Selvia reserves the right to suspend access to the Platform and services until the account is settled
- Annual ITR filing fees (Starter) are billed once per year as a separate invoice
- One-off fees (e.g. company registration) are invoiced separately at the time of service
Selvia reserves the right to revise pricing. Clients will be given at least 30 days' written notice before any price change takes effect.
Section 8
Client obligations
To enable Selvia to perform services accurately and on time, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information about your business, income, and expenses
- Submit documents, receipts, and records in a timely manner as reasonably requested
- Notify Selvia promptly of changes to your business structure, activity, or tax situation
- Ensure that data entered into the Platform is correct and lawfully obtained
- Not use the Platform or services for any unlawful purpose
- Maintain the security of your login credentials and notify Selvia immediately of any suspected unauthorised access
Selvia is not responsible for errors, penalties, or delays arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or late information provided by the Client.
Section 9
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Selvia Platform or services to:
- Violate any applicable Finnish or EU law or regulation
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent financial records
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Selvia's systems or other users' data
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Platform
- Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or overload the Platform
- Facilitate tax evasion, money laundering, or financial fraud
Breach of this section may result in immediate termination of your account without refund and may be reported to relevant Finnish authorities.
Section 10
Platform availability and support
Selvia aims to keep the Platform available during normal business hours. However:
- Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible
- Selvia does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Platform
- Selvia is not liable for downtime caused by third-party infrastructure providers, internet outages, or force majeure events
Support is available via email (info@selvia.fi), phone (0415833020), and WhatsApp. Selvia targets a same-day first reply on weekdays. Priority support applies to Business Plan clients.
Section 11
Intellectual property
All content, software, tools, designs, trademarks, and materials comprising the Selvia Platform are the exclusive intellectual property of Selvia or its licensors.
You are granted a limited licence to use the Platform solely for your own internal business purposes during your active subscription. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of intellectual property to you.
Client data entered into the Platform remains your property. You grant Selvia a limited licence to process that data solely to provide the agreed services.
Section 12
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any non-public information received from the other party in connection with the services, including business data, financial records, and pricing arrangements.
Selvia's employees and subcontractors are bound by confidentiality obligations. Selvia will not disclose Client data to third parties except as required to provide the services (e.g. tax filings with Vero) or as required by law.
Confidentiality obligations survive termination of the service relationship for a period of five (5) years.
Section 13
Data protection
Selvia processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy (selvia.fi/privacy) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Where Selvia acts as a data processor on your behalf (e.g. processing employee records), a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) will be put in place.
By using the services, you confirm that any personal data you provide to Selvia has been collected and may be processed lawfully under applicable data protection law.
Section 14
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Finnish law:
- Selvia's total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Selvia in the three (3) months preceding the claim
- Selvia is not liable for indirect, consequential, or unforeseeable losses, including loss of profit, loss of business opportunity, or reputational damage
- Selvia is not liable for errors or omissions resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Client
- Selvia is not liable for tax penalties assessed by Finnish authorities where the Client failed to provide accurate information or documents in a timely manner
Section 15
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Selvia, its directors, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, losses, penalties, fines, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your provision of false, misleading, or incomplete financial information
- Your use of the Platform or services in violation of applicable law
- Any third-party claims arising from your business operations
Section 16
Term and termination
These Terms commence on the date you subscribe to a plan and continue on a monthly rolling basis unless terminated.
- Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days' written notice
- Selvia may terminate immediately if you breach these Terms materially, fail to pay fees, or use the services unlawfully
- Upon termination, your access to the Platform will cease at the end of the paid period
- Selvia will provide a reasonable period for you to export your data following termination
- Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by Finnish consumer protection law
Sections 11, 12, 14, 15, and 17 survive termination of these Terms.
Section 17
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be resolved first through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If a dispute cannot be resolved by negotiation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the District Court of Helsinki (Helsingin käräjäoikeus) as the court of first instance, unless mandatory Finnish consumer protection law provides otherwise.
If you are a consumer, you also have the right to bring a complaint before the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta) at kuluttajariita.fi.
Section 18
Changes to Terms and contact
Selvia reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify Clients of material changes via email or a prominent notice on selvia.fi at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
